Alma Mater is an ongoing world in expansion by Maria Clara Pessoa, initiated in 2023. A speculative design project that uses AI to explore what Catholic aesthetics would look like if the religion focused on women instead of seeing them as subservient.

In the Bible, God sends His only Son into the world to die and rise again, so that He can redeem mankind's sins. In Alma Mater, the Goddess sends one of her three daughters into the world so she can live a long life, sharing wisdom with humankind. But the prophet is seen as subversive and is crucified at thirty-three years old. After seven days, she rises in the form of a pink rose. And the flower, symbolizing redemption and the cycles of nature, becomes the biggest symbol of Catholicism.
